Children at Yatima in Matanana, Mafinga

After my stay in Iringa, I was fortunate to visit Yatima, Moyo kwa Moyo, an orphanage and community center outside the town of Mafinga. In Swahili, “yatima” means “orphans,” and “moyo kwa moyo” means “heart to heart.” I wanted to visit Moyo kwa Moyo to see if EGG-energy can help the wonderful Swedish man who founded and runs the place get solar panels for the center, and perhaps extend electricity to the community using EGG-energy batteries. We’re still in the proposal phase of this collaboration, but I will let you know how things work out. Meanwhile, if you are interested in learning more about the center, the website (in Swedish) is: http://www.yatima.se/.
