EGG-energy is a for-profit company with a social mission. We believe that access to cheap, clean and reliable power is both a good in itself and a catalyst for enabling small entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, children to extend their study time, remote villages to connect to the wider world, and families to stay connected to each other. In short, while we believe strongly in the potential for private enterprise to empower its customers, we would not be doing what we do if it were not for our commitment to the social goal of cheap, clean power for the developing world.

Because of this commitment, EGG-energy works constantly to make sure that we maintain close links with our customers. Some customers we ask to keep diaries, recording their experience with our service. Others we survey, in order to ensure we are meeting our target of being a solution that is cheaper than the old habits of kerosene-burning lamps and disposable batteries, and getting cues on how to further improve our service offering. EGG-energy is a strong believer in effective measurement and evaluation, and we are always looking for ways to learn to benefit our customers even more effectively.
